Information about joining Whittington and Fisherwick Parish Council

If you wish to make a difference to your community, consider becoming a Parish Councillor.

Whittington and Fisherwick Parish Council can have up to 15 councillors. We organise the annual Countryside Fair, and are involved with planning applications, giving out grants to local organisations, maintenance of public open spaces and obtaining grants, as well as other subjects of local interest which arise from time to time.

Parish Council meetings are once a month at the Pavilion at Bit End Field starting at 7.30 pm. It would be great to have more residents from all areas in the Parish involved in Parish Council work.

To qualify you must be

  • 18 years or over AND
  • a British subject or a citizen of a member state of the European Union AND
  • an elector of the parish; OR a person who over the whole of the last 12 months has been owner or tenant of land OR premises in the parish or has lived in the parish or within 3 miles OR has had his principal place of work in the parish.
