Parish Council Grants
The Parish Council is committed is to ploughing all money raised by our annual Country and Craft Fair and the Summer Ball back into the community rather than spend it on normal day to day Council expenses. This normally takes the form of grants to village voluntary organisations to support village projects.
It is particularly interested in supporting new ventures or projects of direct benefit to the parish. This year, after a particularly successful fair and ball, we are pleased to announce that we had a larger pot of money to allocate.
At the Parish Council meeting on 12 April the Chairman presented Fair fund cheques to those village Organisations who were successful in applying for grants from the Countryside Fair fund. In total, £9620 was awarded to fifteen different groups plus a further £150 presented to the Lichfield Air Cadets in appreciation for their help and support on the day of the Fair. Two Groups from outside the village, Cruse Bereavement Care and Lichfield District Play Scheme who had applied for funding for training facilities, were offered free accommodation in the Parish Pavilion in lieu of cash, for a period during the summer months.
Those Organisations who received grants are listed below:
Woodhouse Farm Steering Group

Harlequin Amateur Theatrical Society

Generally, all grant applications will be considered at the Parish Council meeting in February. However, we will consider projects of an urgent nature at other times. The deadline for this years' applications is 31st December 2010.
The Parish Council would therefore like to invite your organisation to apply for a grant. Your project should be a specific one, or a request for a particular piece of equipment, not just a general wish to boost funds. It is unlikely that we will be in a position to support major building projects. The maximum amount that you can apply for is £750, but we will consider special projects of a different amount seperately.
We would welcome applications from groups representing the full range of ages and sporting, social and cultural activities of the village.
The money wuill be distributed to the lucky applicants at the Annual Parish Meeting at the start of April next year.
