Whittington Country and Craft Fair 2008
Saturday 6th September 2008 – 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.
Whittington Country and Craft Fair is an annual traditional country fair that attracts some five thousand people, provides an excellent family day out and raises money for local voluntary groups and charities. The fair is a celebration of our rural heritage. All money raised is ploughed back into the community mainly through grants to local voluntary organisations and services.
Featuring heavy horses, falconry, sheep dog demonstrations, ferret racing, dog show and dog obedience, gun dog training, agricultural displays, classic cars, tug of war, fly tying, stick making, steam engine rides, children's fairground attractions, mechanical rodeo bull, animal corner, pony rides, farriery, chain saw sculpture, licensed bar, dozens of trade and craft stalls in marqee and outside.

Sponsorship
Would you like to sponsor this popular and prestigious event this September, and take advantage of an ideal showcase to promote your organisation? There will be a great deal of publicity attached to the event this year, using local radio, wide circulation newspapers, and leaflet drops at many of the other big Midlands shows. We can also offer free tickets which you can use as corporate entertainment for your clients, including reserved seating in the main arena.
You can help us in one of these ways:
Buying advertising space in the official event programme or pre-event flyers
Making a contribution or donation
If you feel able to sponsor or donate to our 2008 event, please contact Cllr Cass Jackson on 01543 432067.
Classic Vehicle Display
The event is opened by classic cars parading through the village to the Fair.
Vehicles assemble at the Swan Inn by 9.30 and drive along Main Street to the Fair and into the main ring at or a little after 10.00a.m. After the ring parade with commentary, the cars proceed to a display area. The Bower Queen and her assistant normally are carried in the front vehicle.
I would like to invite you to join us with your vehicle.
To help with the organisation and provide the commentator with information to make the Parade more interesting for the public I should be grateful if would complete and return this form with a little background history of your model.
Please pass the message on if there is anyone else who you think would like to join us.
